SingFest 2026
Vocal students at Berwick College had the amazing opportunity to join this years' SingFest, hosted at Cranbourne East Secondary College. The infectious and very impressive choir master, and musical theatre expert, Grace Collins, literally graced us with her presence guiding the 200+ students from all across the South East Victorian Region to sing together as one, for the very first time.
The students were split into Sopranos/Alto/Bass Sections singing songs "Found/Tonight" a 2018 charity mashup single combining "The Story of Tonight" from Hamilton and "You Will Be Found" from Dear Evan Hansen, Dreamwild by Mark Puddy and last, but not least, the most popular song of the day (as displayed by the kids) - Traditional Torres Strait Island song "Sesere Eeye". Students had such a great day singing loud and proud, a successful SingFest for 2026!
Tamblyne Cooper - Instrumental Music Teacher
On Monday, March 30, six members of the Berwick College Vocal Ensemble, supervised by Michael Couche and Tamblyne Cooper, attended the Southeast Region’s ‘Singfest’ held at Cranbourne East Secondary College. Singfest is an opportunity for 11 schools to come together and form a large choir to give the students an opportunity to participate in a performance experience that they may not have in their individual schools. The ensemble learnt three new songs “Dreamwild”, “Found/Tonight” and “Sesere Eeye” under the expert tutelage of Grace Collins. The students learnt new ways to learn songs as well as the more traditional methods of sight reading. At the end of the day the three songs learned were professionally recorded and will be forwarded to the school to be made available on the Berwick College social media accounts.
