3X3 Cup

Our Basketball Academy recently had our Junior, Intermediate and Senior teams compete in the 3X3 Cup Qualifiers, with our Junior and Senior teams playing at Nunawading Stadium and our Intermediate teams competing at Jubilee Stadium in Frankston. Across all three days, all teams represented Berwick College with great effort and pride.

Across all events, it was pleasing to see the growth in our student-athletes as they applied key concepts from training into the fast-paced 3x3 format. The smaller-sided game challenged players to make quick decisions, play with spacing, and compete consistently on both ends of the floor. All teams showed strong teamwork, resilience and a willingness to learn throughout the day.

Juniors

At the Junior Qualifiers, our teams performed strongly, with our Division 1 Boys and Girls progressing through to the State Finals early in Term 2. The Division 2 Boys also had an outstanding day, finishing with a strong win over Nunawading Christian, highlighting the depth and development across the program.

Intermediate

At the Intermediate Qualifiers, all teams once again competed at a high level. A highlight of the day was our Girls 1 and Boys 1 teams, who both won their divisions and now progress through to the State Finals early in Term 2. Their consistency and ability to execute under pressure were key factors in their success.

Seniors

Our Senior teams also competed at Nunawading Stadium, producing an outstanding set of results across both boys’ and girls’ divisions. In Division 1 Boys, Berwick College 1 defeated Berwick College 2 in an all-Berwick final, showcasing the depth and quality within the program. In Division 2, Berwick College 4 Boys secured the championship with a strong win over Nunawading Christian Sentinels.

Our girls’ teams were again highly competitive, with our Division 1 team finishing runners-up after a hard-fought final against Box Hill. In Division 2, our Berwick College girls team produced an excellent performance to win the championship, with both Division 2 Girls and Division 1 Boys progressing through to the State Finals early in Term 2.

We are extremely proud of the way all students represented the College across all three events and look forward to continuing to build towards the State Finals.
