Year 11 students are encouraged to arrange a one-on-one meeting with Mrs Crawley in Term 4 to begin researching pathways for 2028 and beyond.

Years 7 to 10 2026 – Careers session.

Students in years 7 to 10 will commence Careers Education sessions in Term 2.

Year 9 Morrisby Profiling

Next term, year 9 students will participate in the Morrisby, My Career Insights Program. My Careers Insights is an in-depth personalised careers program for all Year 9 students in Victorian government secondary schools. My Career Insights helps students discover, develop and drive their career planning. It is a unique opportunity for students to learn more about their strengths and abilities, while exploring potential career options, giving students the confidence to start taking control of their future. At the conclusion of the profiling exercise, students receive an extensive report detailing their personalised findings and will then participate in group sessions to unpack the results.

This profiling program is compulsory and is set for Thursday 7 May 2026.  The group unpacking of personalised findings will be occurring over three days from Wednesday 10 June to Friday 12 June. More information will follow in the next newsletter and by correspondence to parents/carers and students.

Year 11 and 12 VCE VM Structured Workplace Learning

Tuesday 9 June – Friday 19 June 2026

All students participating in the VCE Vocational Major program are required to participate in the compulsory Structured Workplace Learning as part of their vocational studies. Students will complete a block of Structured Work Experience between Tuesday 9 June – Friday 19 June 2026 excluding:

  • Monday 8 June 2026 Public Holiday

  • Tuesday 16 June for the GAT (General Achievement Test) – All year 12 students must attend and any year 11 student undertaking a year 12 subject must attend – regardless of having a scheduled VET class this day.

VET Course Arrangements for this period:

The following onsite VET Courses will be cancelled during this period:

  • VET Sport and Recreation

  • VET Business

  • VET Health Support Services.

ALL other VET Courses will continue as normal, and students are encouraged to arrange their work experience around their course times, prioritising their VET attendance and the GAT.

Year 12 VCE VM students will complete the hard copy paperwork, as normal, including:

  • Structured Workplace Learning Form (to be signed by the parent/carer, student and employer)

  • Work Experience Travel Form (to be signed by the parent/carer, student and employer, if applicable)

Year 11 VCE VM students are moving across to the new digital arrangement forms on the new Work Based Learning App.  This new platform replaces the paper forms we have used previously and simplifies the process for everyone. Students, parents/carers and employers now can complete the form process and digitally sign the arrangements from any device. Students have been provided with instructions on how to use the new platform.

ALL VCE VM signed arrangement forms are due to be returned to, Madeleine McKeon, in the library office, no later than Friday 22 May 2026. Year 11 students will no longer have access to the online platform after this date.

A reminder that when completing your paperwork and digital arrangements all students are required to submit these with the mandatory two Safe@Work Certificates (General and Industry Specific), a copy of their White Card, if required and Working with Animals or Travel Form if applicable. Details on these additional requirements has been explained to students, and support or questions can be referred to Madeleine McKeon.

For any other information, questions or enquiries regarding the upcoming VCE VM Structured Workplace Learning Program please do not hesitate to contact Madeleine McKeon on 8768 1015.

VET and achieving your VCE VM Certificate

Did you know that VET is a compulsory requirement of VCE VM to gain your Certificate?  If you are a year 12 student, you should check with your VET teacher to be sure you are on track for success.

Attendance

Attendance at your VET course matters.  It supports your learning and contributes to your overall school attendance. If you are unable to attend your VET course, you must advise your teacher as well as the VET office at school on 8768 1073 or 8768 1068.

USI (Unique Student Identifier)

All students require a USI number if they are undertaking any short course or tertiary course (TAFE, university). Therefore, if your child is undertaking a TAFE/VET course this year for the first time, please ensure you contact the VET office to ensure you have passed along their USI or find out how to obtain one.
