Principal's Weekly Update

As we move through Term 2, it’s been wonderful to see our children so engaged in their learning and thriving in both the classroom and playground. Thank you to our dedicated staff and supportive families for continuing to foster a strong sense of community. As we grow together, it's important to remember that promoting an inclusive and respectful environment is at the heart of who we are. There will always be bumps along the way, but school should remain a safe and supportive place for all of us, that included children, staff, and families, to learn, grow, and work through challenges together.
Reminding Parents to Finalise Enrolment for 2026
If you have a child starting school in 2026, or know someone who does, please ensure enrolment forms are submitted as soon as possible. Early confirmation of enrolments helps us with planning for classes and staffing next year. Forms are available from the office or can be downloaded from our school website.
What’s On
A reminder to check the school calendar regularly for upcoming events, including excursions, assemblies, and special celebrations. We look forward to The Mother's Day Lunch that has been organised by an amazing PFA team. Our Year 6 SRC Fundraising Team are holding a Pyjama Day on Thursday 29 May. Please send your child to school with a gold coin donation. Funds raised will go toward the creation of a whole school artwork to signal the location of the bike shed.
Next week our Preps begin their two week swimming program and Year 1s will be hosting Assembly on Wednesday afternoon. We look forward to them showcasing their learning. Please note that Friday 6 June is a Pupil-Free Day. While staff will be onsite for professional learning, students are not required to attend school. We ask that families make alternative arrangements for their children on this day.
Children Highlights
This week, our Year 1 students have wowed us with their creativity as they explored storytelling through Media Arts. They also enjoyed rich learning experiences in the garden with Anna, where nature, magnifying glasses, and watercolours became their tools for exploration and discovery. Our Prep students are nearing the end of their Big Idea related to feelings and emotions. We’re excited to see their learning come to life at Assembly in Week 8, where they will be showcasing their work.
Meanwhile, our Year 2 and Year 5/6 students have been fully engaged in a range of hands-on STEM activities, demonstrating curiosity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Our Year 3/4 students have continued to amaze us with their culinary skills in the kitchen, and sharing meals together in the front garden remains a highlight of the week.
Community Connections
We’re proud of the way our students continue to demonstrate our school values both at school and in the wider community. Thank you to the parents/carers who volunteered to help with the 5/6 swimming program, Year 1 cooking and Year 2 STEM.
Your support makes a real difference.
We are excited to share that plans are underway to transform our front garden, just outside the Kids Kitchen. This project reflects the strong value we place on connecting children with nature, and we can’t wait to see this vibrant new space take shape. We are currently in the tendering process and look forward to works commencing soon.
