District Cross Country

On Friday, May 9th, we competed in the Altona District Cross Country Carnival along with 5 other schools. The competition runs each year for students in the Under 9/10, Under 11, or Under 12/13 age groups. We selected 27 students for the carnival, where the students competed in a 2km or 3km run at J.K. Grant Reserve, depending on their age group. At the event, ribbons and progression to the division cross country are awarded to the students who finish in the top 10.

We had 14 students progress: Yanet, Claudia, Jacqlyn, Sajid, Sofia L., Sophia P., Aoife, Ashton, Dyudith, Ciara, Afreen, Heidi, Utkarsh and Tanish. All of the students who progressed will compete at Werribee Racecourse on Thursday, May 22nd.

During each race, our runners received points for our school, and we collected enough points to finish 2nd overall, which is a fantastic result and one of our best finishes in years. Thank you to everyone who came and watched and supported the team, and good luck to our runners at the divisional carnival!
