On Monday during our whole school assembly, the following students were acknowledged and their learning described so we all know why they are worthy recipients of our awards and applause.

It is so heartwarming to see how welcoming you have been to the new member of our class by showing them where things are and always being the first to offer your help. You are a wonderful role model for the SMDP community. Well done! |
PN | Scarlett | For being a resilient learner who takes writing risks to extend her learning. She consistently follows instructions and completes all tasks promptly and to a high standard. Then she does a little bit more, using her letter sound knowledge she sounds out words and labels her work or write original sentences to match her pictures. Congratulations on your amazing effort and initiative, Scarlett! |
1C | Isabelle | For showing exceptional collaboration and kindness in Grade One. Your warm heart and welcoming spirit made our new student feel right at home. Thank you for being a true friend and a shining example to others. Your thoughtfulness, independence, and caring heart makes our classroom a beautiful place to learn. Well done Isabelle. |
1O | Hania | For being a truly collaborative and supportive member of our school community. Your selflessness in the yard never goes unnoticed—you constantly put others before yourself and make sure no one is left out. Yard duty teachers often share stories with me of the kindness and care you show, especially to those sitting on the buddy bench. You are an exceptional friend, Hania, and we are so lucky to have you in our class. |
2M | Mark | For being a motivated learner who returned from the holidays with an outstanding attitude towards his learning. Each morning, he’s come in with a smile, settled quickly on the carpet, and shown that he’s ready to learn. His positive mindset and hard work didn’t go unnoticed— Mark was chosen as our Secret Student for being such a motivated and enthusiastic learner. Well done, Mark! Your motivation is inspiring to everyone around you. Keep it up! |
2A | Emma | For being a creative learner and making amazing connections with our inquiry unit on natural disasters and your own life experiences. Thank you for creating an information writing piece at home about your dads really cool job as an animator creating awareness about bushfires and sharing with the class letting us know all the different ways they can start. This has really helped our class understand the dangers! Well done Emma! |
3/4LM | Naia | For being a motivated learner who has been sharing her learning with confidence! Naia has built up presenting skills and has challenged herself to share new understandings with her peers. Welldone Naia you are a superstar and we are incredibly proud of your growth! |
3/4K | Ayaan | For being a collaborative and caring student during Athletics Day. You showed fantastic leadership traits by guiding younger students, ensuring they didn’t miss their events, and offering kind encouragement when they felt nervous. 2M | Jia | This week, this student has shown all of our learning powers. While it’s hard to choose just one, we are celebrating their motivation today. This student listens attentively, is always ready to ask and answer questions, and consistently gives her best effort. During writing, she shows curiosity by seeking support with her ideas and aiming to improve. She is also polite, fair and works beautifully with others. Jia, you are a shining example of a motivated learner – keep it up! |
2A | Arjun | For being a collaborative learner. You have been such a calm, cool and collected partner during group work this week. We have done a few inquiry tasks this week that involved teamwork and you have helped your partner and supported your small group like a champ! Well done, I am so proud of how much you have grown. |
3/4LM | Vabietha | For being a collaborative learner during Jewelry Club on Friday. Vabietha demonstrated helpful behaviours such as giving up some of his creative time to help another student who was upset. He set up the space and was the last person to leave ensuring that all materials were put back perfectly. Thank you for making choices that are making a positive impact! |
3/4K | Eva | For being a resilient and motivated learner, who hasn’t let a broken arm slow you down, or get in the way of your learning.
