This is what our students have been up to this week.
In French this week our Prep/1 class is learning "Oui. J'aime les loups or Non. Jen'aime pas les lapins" (Yes, I love.....or No. I do not like)
Students put this into practice during language activities, using the example of animals, both visually as a whole group activity, and on paper during independent practice time.
As part of Harmony Day at the end of last term, Anna's 4/5 class made some eye-catching woven wall-hangings. Students constructed a frame with either paddle pop sticks or straws and chose some coloured wool to created a pattern. These are on display in the corridor outside their classroom.
The Year 6 class have been revising for a maths test based on calculating the area and perimeter of rectangles, rombuses and triangles.
Class 1/2 have been working on their writing response to the book Welcome Home, Bear. During inquiry, students have been looking into animal habitats.
The 3/4 class has been learning the jump strategy in their mathmatics unit. This can be used to solve addition and subtraction problems. Students also broke in to small groups to create their own strategies to then become experts, to teach the rest of the class.
