Principal's Report

After a busy start to the term, this week we have enjoyed a quieter week in which to focus on learning in the classroom.
During break times, students have been
enjoying playing soccer, making 'nests' in the leaves and playing games of 'Spy' with supervising staff.
Choir practice is being held during Wednesday lunch times again this term, and on Thursdays, students can hone their puzzle skills at the Rubik's Cube Club during recess and their netball skills at lunchtime.
These activities are open to all ages (P-6) and any children interested in joining the netball competition is encouraged to speak with Kathryn, as she is currently finalising teams.
As their reward for earning the most house points last term, students in Kiewa Green celebrated with a special trip to the Mount Beauty playground on Tuesday, while the rest of the school completed their XC training!
Tomorrow, families are invited to join us for our first Friday Assembly for Term 2. For this week's presentation, representatives from all classes will be presenting a short summary about what their class will be doing this term.
Next week, Dale Sidebottom will be returning on Thursday with the School of Play, to run sessions with each of our classes, as well as staff, about the importance of using play to support our students learning, health and well-being through building empathy, teamwork and self-awareness.
Friday, 16th May, is the annual XC Cluster run. Students in Prep-6 will travel by bus to the Tawonga Park for this event, which will commence at 11.30am. Lunch will be held at 12.30pm, followed by presentations. Meal Deal forms have been sent home today. Please ensure these are returned to school by Monday
The year 5/6 Canberra Camp is just a few weeks away. Thank you to everyone who has returned their child's medical forms. If you haven't yet done so, please ensure this is returned no later than Monday, so that we can finalise our organisation and submit relevant details to the accommodation provider.
Alpine Valley's Autism Community (AVAC) is holding an Autism and Neurodiversity Community Information Night on Monday, May 26th from 7pm at the Myrtleford P-12 College. For more information, and to secure your free ticket, please go to their website
Happy Mother's Day to all our mums for this Sunday. I hope you enjoy this special day of recognition, whatever the day brings!
