School Photos Have Arrived
Parents who have paid for school photos and not yet received them, please remind your child to collect these from Student Services.
Have You Downloaded the Compass App?
Our school has now fully transitioned to COMPASS as our attendance and parent communication portal.
Please download the COMPASS app. You are able to locate the COMPAS app as either an app through the Play Store and locate Balmoral SHS to sign up. An email from Compass has been sent directly to families with a username and password. This will provide your access to Compass.
We ask families to advise the school of student absences through any of the following three options.
- Q parents App
- Student Absence email: studentabsences@balmoralshs.eq.edu.au
- Compass App
Compass Absence Entries
When entering a student absence for a full day, please do not make 5 entries. Instead use the 8:45am - 2:45pm option. A full day's entry requires ONE notification only.
If your child will be absent from school for a single period or part of the day, please contact the office directly. Please do not send messages via the Compass app as this is not set up as a messaging service.
Student Laptops
Balmoral SHS is a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) school. All students are expected to have a fully charged laptop at school every day for use in their class lessons and learning activities.
We understand that some families may experience difficulty with purchasing a device for their students. Balmoral SHS is able to offer a temporary laptop hire levy scheme to support families. If you would like more information about this laptop hire program, please contact Mrs Anmaree Hudson - ahuds56@eq.edu.au
