Highlights from Heights
As we continue rolling out our School Wide Positive Behaviours program, students across the school have been learning about resilience during their SEL lessons. They’ve been exploring what it means to be resilient and learning strategies to bounce back from challenges, build emotional strength, and show resilience in everyday school life. It’s been wonderful to see our students developing these essential life skills and applying them in their classrooms and beyond.
In the Senior Learning Centre, interschool sport is again underway. Each week, our students proudly represent Springvale Rise, consistently demonstrating our school values—particularly collaboration, and resilience—as they compete with schools from the local area. Their dedication to regular training sessions has helped foster strong team spirit and positive sporting attitudes.
Our recent Curriculum Day was a valuable opportunity for staff to work together in preparation for the school’s upcoming School Review in Term 3. Staff teams analysed data, reflected on the school’s achievements over the past four years, and began discussions around future directions. The day was an important step in ensuring continued growth and success for all students.
A special highlight this week was the Foundation Mothers’ and Special People Event. Families joined their children for a joyful morning of games, puzzles, and engaging literacy and numeracy activities. Students also decorated a biscuit to share and delighted guests with a heartwarming song, making it a truly memorable celebration. There were many smiling faces lighting up the FLC!
Finally special thanks to Mrs Hibbins this week for coordinating the exciting new interactive artwork which is now on display in the gym! Guided by student voice, the idea of a café scene was chosen, with students from each year level working collaboratively to create individual pieces that contribute to the vibrant final mural. The artwork invites students to step into the café themselves—posing as the person holding a tray, sipping a milkshake, or striking a variety of fun café-themed poses. It’s a creative and engaging installation that not only showcases our students’ artistic talents, but also makes for a fantastic photo opportunity!
