A message from Emily Murcott - Assistant Principal / Wellbeing Literacy
Connect Groups
As the students heard the hand held bells ring, signalling to line up at their Connect Group location, the buzz of excitement was evident by the continuous kind and enthusiastic stories and words shared with their peers from a range of year levels. It warmed my heart to see students engage with other their peers that they didn't initially know.
As I wandered through each room I saw smiles, engagement, enjoyment, achievement, creativity and connections between students and students, students and staff, students and parents and staff and parents.
I was amazed by what students had learnt in such a short amount of time. Some students had learnt a substantial amount of a dance, had created not just one but two key rings, could Auslan sign most of the alphabet, created origami creatures, whilst others had begun creating their water colour painting.
After the session was completed the students and staff left the school in such high spirits and I was so pleased to see such positivity and love for learning.
Following are some photos of some of the Connect Groups.
Our next Connect Group meet in Week 7 on Friday 6th June. I am looking forward to seeing how students further development their skills, have fun and consolidate their new friendships across the school.
Regards,
Emily Murcott
