Dear Parents and Friends
We commenced the term with a special prayer service dedicated to the Holy Father. Like many of you, the staff and I were saddened by the news on Easter Monday. As a mark of respect, next week, students in Years 3–6 will contribute to the Sydney Catholic Schools online condolences book.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord.
As you know, May is dedicated to Our Lady, and we will celebrate this devotion by holding a weekly Rosary, led by Mrs. Seric. Families are warmly invited to join us in prayer each Thursday morning.
Last week, I had the privilege of attending the ordination Mass of the new Auxiliary Bishop of Sydney Anthony Percy - a truly inspiring occasion. A new Bishop in the Archdiocese is a joyous occasion and Bishop Tony’s appointment will strengthen our thriving Archdiocese.
Our new coding and Minecraft clubs launched successfully, receiving enthusiastic approval from the students. It has been wonderful to see them apply the skills and knowledge gained in Term 1 in fresh and creative ways.
Our next parent information session will be held on Monday, 19th May, at 7:00 PM in the Kindergarten classrooms. During this meeting, we will discuss the results of the Term 1 parent survey and provide updates regarding uniforms. Additionally, Mrs. Barbera will present insights into our revised Religious Education syllabus.
Prior to the main meeting, there will be a Child Protection Parent Volunteer Meeting at 6:30 PM.
The children have been thoroughly enjoying the recent upgrades to our playground. Following the debacle with the boat structure, I am working to source a suitable replacement in the coming term. Meanwhile, the newly installed shade cloth provides excellent shelter from the sun and the handball courts have quickly become a favourite among students.
The last 16 months have seen significant improvements in the infrastructure of the school and It is truly rewarding to see both students and staff benefiting from these improvements.
Looking ahead, I am eager to transform the area outside the art room into a dedicated prayer and reflection space for the children. Some generous fathers in our community have already offered their assistance, and I welcome any additional families who wish to contribute their time.
If there are any landscape designers or architects among our community, I would like to hear from you! Your expertise would be greatly valued in bringing this vision to life.
Jack and Victoria were delighted to share their holiday snaps with me.
We look forward to seeing our mums and mother figures tomorrow at our prayer service.
Enjoy the weekend mums!
Hope you get spoiled, as you deserve!
