Year Nine - Wonder
As part of the Wonder Project U , the Year 9 level were fortunate enough to participate in a presentation from The Periods, Pain and Endometriosis (PPEP Talk®). This program is an initiative of the Pelvic Pain Foundation of Australia (PPFA), funded by the Federal Government Department of Health with support from State and Territory Governments.
PPEP Talk® addresses the number one priority of the National Action Plan for Endometriosis – education and awareness. PPEP Talk® is the largest pain education program for students in Australia. It plays a critical role in informing and educating students to recognise and identify whether their pain is normal, how all the different symptoms fit together, simple ways to reduce their pain, and how to look for further help if pain is severe. This allows students to fulfil their true potential, without the burden of pain.
The students found this program very informative and were very engaged, asking lots of questions and give lots of positive feedback such as:
- Thank you for teaching us it meant a lot! xx'
- 'Thank you for coming! !! ♡♡ '
- 'The woman was a great speaker!'
- 'Lovely and kind way of talking and explaining.'
- 'it really helped me understand better'
- 'It was so educational ♡'
- 100% of students found PPEP Talk® informative.
- 90% of students know what endometriosis is (compared to 31% pre session)
- 99% of students reported PPEP Talk® showed them tools to use if they get period pain.
- 99% of students reported PPEP Talk® had information on how to improve their general health.
Project U continues to go from strength to strength, empowering our students to charge of their physical and mental health. We are very proud of the work our Yr 9 students are doing and look forward to celebrating this at the Yr 9 Parent Forum on Thursday 3rd July.

Year Nine - Personal Development Day
Our Year Nines had a terrific Personal Development Day this term, celebrating student voice. The day began with a fun and engaging performance and workshop from Ally Aurora that highlighted the need to listen to our inner enthusiast, rather than our inner critic. Students then worked on developing their communication skills with each other by participating in some group challenge activities. They planked their way across the oval, flipped tarps with the whole class and pitched tents - the ultimate challenge for teamwork and patience!
After a barbeque lunch, students were able to choose their own adventure and get to know each other while doing activities they enjoy - craft, scavenger hunt, board games or rediscovering their inner child at Burden Park. To finish the day, we had a Trivia Competition, designed and run with great professionalism by our Savannah, Olivia, Talia and Skye. All of our students participated enthusiastically in all aspects of the day and the Yr 9 team was very proud of them and loved getting to spend time with them out of the classroom. Enjoy some photos of the day…

Year Eleven - Business Week
Our Year 11 Business Management students have been busy running their own market stalls, showcasing products they have developed and prepared for sale. Each group was provided with a $100 start-up budget to launch and operate their mini business, which they will repay at the end of the project. All profits generated will be donated to a charity of their choice. The purpose of this hands-on project is to give students real-world insight into the internal and external environments of running a business, including legal and financial considerations, and the complexities of managing a supply chain. There was such a great buzz in the Atrium, and it was truly rewarding to see all the students’ hard work paying off.
Athletics Carnival
A few weeks ago, we had our annual Athletics Day on a beautiful sunny day. This school event is filled with various sports for students to compete in, to score points for their House.
An Athletics Day is not complete without a Staff vs Students relay race, as it's definitely a crowd favourite! Congratulations to the Staff team who took home first place.
Thank you to everyone involved in such a successful day for our students, especially our Sports Leaders and HEPE Staff who led the day.
Special congratulations to our winning House, Brigid! 👽🐲🥇🏆
Well done to every student who participated.
