The Solar Vehicle Competition

Last Sunday some of our students participated in the Victorian Solar Vehicle Competition. Everyone had a great time and cheered each other on! The four car teams won ten wins in the round robin. Two of the four Solar Car teams made it to the final eight in the knockout rounds. One of our car teams got 2nd place and the car was called ‘Fast Thing’. We wish them the best of luck as they will be going to Nationals in Sydney in December.  

The boat teams also gave it their best, and actually, one boat team got fourth place. Congratulations to Leopard Express for getting fourth place and possibly making it to Nationals! Although we only had 1 boat team making it to nationals, the 6 boat teams together achieved 15 wins which is a lot! 

It is the first time in a while that we have got two best poster awards for both car and boat. These two teams worked very hard to display the different features of their vehicles. They followed the regulations and made their posters as eye-catching as possible. The winning teams for the best poster award were: ‘Cloud Catchers’ for boats and ‘Solar Speed’ for cars.  

We wish our two solar vehicle teams the best of luck and a great time at Nationals in Sydney in December!
