LOTE

We’ve had a busy couple of weeks in Indonesian class!

In Prep, students are now counting independently and confidently identifying colours. They've also had fun learning about farm animals and practicing the sounds they make in Indonesian.

Years 1 and 2 have been learning names for classroom objects and read the first chapter of Wombi At School, exploring new words along the way and meeting Wombi’s friend, Emu.

Years 3 and 4 planned their ideal weekend of leisure activities and have started using strategies to translate Indonesian text with confidence.

Our Year 5 and 6 students explored different school subjects Indonesian students study and even created their own timetables for a school week, comparing schedules across cultures.

Visual Arts

As students progress with their projects, it’s been wonderful to see their skills developing. The Preps are becoming more confident in using colour and texture to express their ideas, while the 1/2s are mastering the concept of perspective, creating more detailed and layered landscapes. Our 3/4s are refining their portrait drawing techniques and learning how to capture the unique features of their subjects, with interviews adding depth to their work. The 5/6s are growing in their ability to compose large-scale collages, thoughtfully selecting materials and learning how to bring balance and harmony to their expansive designs. It’s inspiring to witness their artistic growth!
