Beginning Of Term 4:

Year 7 and 8 Leader Report

YEAR 7

And just like that, we've hit the home straight of Year 7!

Term 4 has started with renewed energy and enthusiasm as the students approach the end of the year.

Last week, we held our Year 7 Wellbeing Day. Students participated in workshops about mindfulness, resilience, online safety, mental health strategies, problem solving and teamwork. They were assisted by our wonderful Wellbeing team of Rebecca Bradshaw, Emma Tribe and Natalie Kearney, along with some of our Year 10 peer support students.

The students have shared very positive feedback from the day, finding it both informative and enjoyable.

As the Year 7s head towards their final assessments and first exams of secondary school, our focus will shift to time management skills and study techniques.

Please encourage your Year 7 student by setting up a tidy and organised space at home to complete homework and study tasks.

There are many fun and engaging activities coming up in Term 4, and we look forward to celebrating a wonderful year together.

YEAR 8

Year 8 has been a year full of excitement, growth, and achievements. The students have shown immense dedication and enthusiasm, engaging in a wide variety of activities throughout the year.

From the thrilling experiences at camp to showcasing their talents in school productions, the Year 8s have embraced every opportunity to grow and shine.

The challenges of exams were met with determination, and their participation in interschool sports demonstrated strong teamwork and sportsmanship.

Each student has contributed to the collective success of the year, making it truly memorable.

In addition to their accomplishments in these events, the Year 8s have also shown great commitment to the school’s values, earning numerous HRRRT points along the way. It has been wonderful to acknowledge their dedication and celebrate their efforts in all aspects of school life.

The positive environment fostered by the students’ achievements and contributions has made this year a truly successful one for Year 8, setting the stage for even greater things to come.

Year 9 and 10 Leader Report

Term 4 brings exciting opportunities and challenges as we approach the end of the school year. With exams and common assessment tasks being undertaken and, on the horizon, I encourage students to stay focused, set goals, and seek support if needed.

We will continue to emphasise positive behaviour, attendance, and academic growth, with ongoing support from our teachers and wellbeing staff. Our goal is for each student to finish the year on a high note, achieving personal goals and contributing positively to our school community, including exemplifying our school ‘HRRRT’ values.

Areas to be mindful of moving forward in Term 4 are:

  • Students should be conscientious in their completion of classwork, homework and revision, to set themselves up for success in their Semester 2 exams, which are scheduled from November 11th to November 15th.
  • It is a school and departmental expectation that students meet the 90% attendance requirements, and those who exceed that will be recognised. Where students are absent, it is expected that parents/carers enter an explanation for the absence on Compass.

All the best for Term 4, as our Year 9s prepare to transition into Year 10, and our Year 10s prepare transition into VCE/VM! Please stay tuned for upcoming events, including our city experience for our Year 9 cohort, and other end-of-year activities and celebrations.

Year 11 and 12 Leader Report

YEAR 11

As we approach the final stretch of the school year, it’s a crucial time for our Year 11 students to reflect on their progress and prepare for what’s ahead. With Year 11 exams and final deadlines on the horizon, we encourage all students to stay organised, make the most of their study time, and seek feedback from their teachers to ensure they are well-prepared. This is an excellent opportunity to build strong study habits that will serve you well in Year 12.

We’re also excited to announce that we are starting the process of organizing the Year 12 jackets for next year—so stay tuned for updates on that! It's always a special part of moving into your final year, and we look forward to making it memorable.

Speaking of special moments, we had a fantastic time at the Year 11 Formal at the end of Term 3! It was a great evening filled with fun, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make it such a success.

Best of luck to those for your exam preparation and remember to take care of your health and wellbeing during this busy time.

YEAR 12

On Monday, 14th October, we had the pleasure of coming together for the Valedictory Evening, a wonderful event that marked the end of an important chapter in the lives of our Year 12 students. It was a night filled with joy, reflection, and celebration, as students, families, and staff shared in the achievement of completing their senior studies. We are incredibly proud of each one of you for reaching this milestone.

As we look ahead, the VCE exams are just around the corner. We want to wish all our students the very best during this period. Remember to take care of yourselves—balance your study with rest, stay healthy, and reach out if you need support.

The senior team is cheering you on, and we can't wait to hear about all the exciting paths you will take once your time at school comes to an end.

Best of luck, Year 12 we know you’ll go on to do amazing things!
