Most adults in our busy world today carry mild to moderate stress-levels daily. Too much prolonged stress can result in a more serious condition called burn-out. Burn-out can take several years to recover from.
We invite you to come along to engage in well-being topic discussions as a group. We understand how busy everyone is so please feel free to come along to the weeks that suit you. Together we will study a Chapter from the book, ‘Reducing Stress and Finding Peace’, Patrick Collins CM. We are hoping this will help to support your wellbeing.
We will reflect on the book ‘Reducing Stress and Finding Peace’, and an audio series of talks to unpack what stress is, the impact of stress on our health, experiencing burn-out and other topics such as:

‘Relax & Meditation’ is continuing in Term 4. These sessions will teach a relaxation technique, prayer and meditation that will help support well-being and faith to grow. In Term 4, we will introduce another simple relaxation technique called belly-breathing into the ‘Relax & Meditation’ sessions. This is a calming technique that brings oxygen to the brain and reminds us to breath deeply. Parents are welcome to join for these sessions. Meditation will be held at 2:45pm in the Church. Please see the timetable below for dates.

Since the beginning of the year each class has been given a relax and meditation time in the Church.
We have learned a relaxation technique specifically for children called the, “Little Red Bus.” It’s an imaginary Explorer Bus, a bit like the Sydney Explorer Bus that travels around our city, except this Explorer Bus is in our imagination and it travels around our body. It’s a basic body scan that relaxes the body through concentration, breathing and present moment practices.
Hear is a link where you can learn about Christian Meditation using the mantra called Mar-an-ar-tha.
Students will be attendingClass Mass at Holy Family Church with their teacher throughout the term and we would love you to join them. Students who are reading a ‘Prayer of the Faithful’ will be given these prayers to bring home and practice. If your child is reading a prayer we would love you to read with them if you are available.
We will be offering hospitality after Mass so parents and grandparents can enjoy a coffee together and meet new and old friends.
Kind regards,
