On the 17th October our boys and girls table tennis teams participate in the Barwon Secondary Intermediate Table Tennis Competition at Geelong Table Tennis Association.
A huge congratulations to everyone who participate, with the girls winning their pool and the boys finishing second.
It is always great to see students uniting for the school and representing SCSC with respect and great sportsmanship in competition.
We are thrilled to support an upcoming student-led trip to the stunning landscapes of Borneo, organized through World Challenge! This incredible journey promises to be an unforgettable experience, combining adventure with valuable lessons in sustainability and responsible travel.
Training Day Highlights
Recently, our trip leader conducted a comprehensive training day with our students here at school, designed to equip our students with essential skills for their expedition. Here are some key takeaways from the session:
What’s Next?
The trip to Borneo is not just about exploring breathtaking landscapes; it’s also about fostering a sense of global responsibility and environmental stewardship among our students. As they prepare for this adventure, they will continue to develop skills that will benefit them both on the trip and in their everyday lives.
Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to departure. We encourage families to engage with our students about their preparations and the significance of sustainable travel.
We can’t wait to see how this journey transforms our students and inspires them to become conscientious global citizens!
On the 24th October our Year 11 VET Sport & Recreation students participated in the Super Circuit tree top challenge, which is designed to test their endurance, agility and problem solving skills.
Students also learn about how Live Wire Park runs as a sustainable business powered by nature. The park has been thoughtfully designed to have a minimal impact on the environment, being fuelled by solar power and having all water collected, treated and used on site.
On the 31st October our Year 10 Outdoor Enviro students explored the Wurdi Youang (You Yangs) for the day.
Students climbed 3 crags and abseiled down the face of the granitic rock. It was a great day, with students belaying each other and encouraging mates.
You Yangs rich history for the Wadawurrung People, students learnt about the song lines and significance of Bunjil.
On the 21st October our school captains Annabel, Saskia, Thomas and Lachie lead the Year 12 students final assembly.
It was a great opportunity to celebrate their achievements so far and for the students to gather to sign uniforms and say goodbyes, as it was also their final day at school.
We wish them all the best with their exams!
