What's On in Term 4

Prep

Students will be participating in units of Kicking and Bouncing. Students will continue to learn how to perform basic movement skills and how to move safely in space, while developing their understanding of boundaries, rules and good sportsmanship.

 

Grade 1/2

Students will be participating in units of Striking, Ninja Skipping and Minor Games. 

 

When learning about striking, students will learn how to perform a one handed and a two-handed strike. 

 

During Ninja Skipping, students will participate in warm up activities that developing their skipping skills. 

 

In Minor Games, students will be learning how to play team games that involve a range of skills and require students to work cooperatively with a team.

 

Grade 3/4

Students will be participating in units of Invasion Games and will be learning about a range of sports, including Flag Football and Netball. 

 

During these units, they will be developing their fundamental movement skills and learning how to move into space and maintain possession of the ball.

 

Grade 5/6

 Students will be participating in the Sport Education in Physical Education Program (SEPEP) and will be learning about Netball.  

 

SEPEP uses the best parts of community sport to enhance student learning. The program is designed for students to explore, experience and understand team sport and develop their ability to work effectively with a team to achieve a common goal.

 

During SEPEP, students will be assigned to a team that they will work with throughout the entire term. They will begin by developing their Netball skills and understanding of how to play invasion games. The students will then compete in a round robin competition, which culminates in a final series with a trophy awarded to the winning team.

 

Divisional Athletics

On Wednesday, September 18th, 16 students from Berwick Chase PS participated in the Southern Metro Divisional Athletics, which was held at Casey Fields Regional Athletics Centre.

 

Well done to the students for their outstanding performance. We are all very proud of their achievements and the effort they put in!

 

Congratulations to Miles, Pranav, Fili and Ian who finished 1st and 2nd they have now qualified for Regional Athletics.
