Parents and guardians are reminded that the Department does not provide personal accident insurance or ambulance cover for students.
So, parents/guardians are reminded that:
parents or guardians of students, who do not have student accident insurance, are responsible for paying the cost of medical treatment for injured students, including the cost of ambulance attendance or transport as well as any other transport costs; and
parents or guardians can purchase insurance policies from commercial insurers.
It is the responsibility of parents or guardians to investigate their preferred options. The Department cannot provide advice to parents or guardians on the purchase of individual student accident policy or ambulance cover.
Parents/guardians and students are also reminded that private property brought to school by students or visitors is not insured and the Department does not accept any responsibility for any loss or damage. This can include mobile phones, calculators, toys, sporting equipment and cars parked on school premises. As the Department does not hold insurance for personal property brought to schools and has no capacity to pay for any loss or damage to such property, students should be discouraged from bringing any unnecessary or particularly valuable items to school.
Just a reminder that the Compass payment portal is open for 2026 contributions and includes any Semester 1 electives which involve subject specific materials and equipment. Thank you to families who have already paid 2026 electives, any curriculum/other contributions and/or donations, your continued support of the College and its programs is greatly appreciated.
Your contributions assist us to enhance and broaden the educational experience for students. They allow us to offer significant subject choices, equipment, and full access to a wide range of materials. Furthermore - beyond this, the generous contributions from our school community allows us to enhance the quality and number of the programs we offer. We want to thank you in advance for continuing to support the educational experience of your child/ren.
Schools provide students with free instruction to fulfil the standard Victorian curriculum requirements, and the ongoing support of our families ensures that our college can offer the best possible education and support for students that far exceeds the standard curriculum offerings.
2026 Parent Payment information is also available on the school website Parent Payment Information | Vermont Secondary College. You can make contributions through your Compass payment centre. Please ring the school office if you need assistance.

For any families wanting to claim their tax deductable donation towards the building and/or library fund, please see the following instructions on how to generate this yourself through your Compass account.
For safety reasons parents/guardians should not be driving on to school grounds to drop off or pick up their child(ren). Please arrange a suitable place off school grounds for morning drop off and afternoon pick up. Thank you for your cooperation.
Protecting the safety and well-being of students through the reporting and monitoring of absenteeism is the responsibility of both parents/carers and schools.
Please remember to log your child’s absence using Compass early in the morning if your child is going to be away, or late for school, so your child’s absence can be recorded correctly.
