German Exchange Program
Vermont Secondary College
The Mullauna SC - Vermont SC exchange group arrived home on Thursday 23rd April. In our final week on the exchange, students attended classes with their host partners and also explored the town of Kaufungen where our host school is located.

Our sister school hosted a wonderful buffet dinner for our staff, students and host families. At this dinner we celebrated the 30th anniversary of the exchange between our schools and the IGS Kaufungen.
Last Monday all exchange students, their partners and staff, walked to the Königs-Alm restaurant in Nieste where we were treated to some delicious German dishes.
Before departing Germany, we travelled as a group to historic Heidelberg, where we visited the beautiful Heidelberg castle, the Altstadt (old town) as well as walking up the Schlangenweg which offered an amazing view of the city.
This has been a very successful exchange trip that has enriched students' language skills, cultural and historical understanding as well as increased their independence. Students are to be commended for their exemplary behaviour and keen interest shown throughout the last four weeks.

A sincere thank you to the four MSC/VSC staff who organised and accompanied students on this exchange: Herr Ruff, Herr Jacobs, Frau Paydon and Frau Durham.
For those doing Year 9 German who are interested in being involved in the next exchange program (hosting October 2026 and travelling in 2027), information will be provided to families via compass soon about our upcoming information evening and application process.
