SCHOOL NURSE UPDATE

WELLNESS TIPS FROM YOUR SCHOOL NURSE!

Take time everyday to do something that you enjoy. This could be playing with a pet, reading, excercising or hanging out with friends! It can be helpful to schedule time for things you enjoy in your calender or planner

Eat good food and stay hydarated! Foods can affect stress levels, so eat nutritious foods like whole grains, fruits , vegetables and lean meat to help reduce stress. Try to drink 8-11 cups water per day

Exercise! Exercising is a great way to lower stress and anxiety. Exercise can include playing a sport, running, and dancing to your favorite music. Get some fresh air and go on a walk outside!

Try some relaxation strategies including progressive muscle relaxation. Listen to ASMR or music that’s calming for you, try colouring in – you’d be amazed at how calming it can be!

Take deep breaths! If you are very stressed, take deep, slow breaths.

Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Ask your school nurse, teacher, friend, or family member for help if you need it.

Your school nurse and other school staff are here to support you during stressful times.

You are not alone! If you need to talk about stress or other concerns, you can visit the school nurse or your school wellbeing team
