National Angora Trophy Show
Last month, a group of our students had the exciting opportunity to attend the National Angora Trophy Show, representing our school with pride and enthusiasm.
We set off bright and early at 5:30 am on Friday, 13th March. By the time we reached Yass, the bus had come alive with a karaoke session, setting a fun and energetic tone for the trip ahead. Once we arrived, students quickly got to work setting up the goat pens and preparing bedding, showing great initiative and teamwork.
The competition began with the Schools section, where our students performed exceptionally well. Their hard work paid off as we were named Champion School—an achievement everyone should be very proud of.
After a big first day, we headed into Goulburn for dinner at the Workers Club, where the crowd favourite chicken schnitzel was thoroughly enjoyed. Of course, no trip would be complete without a stop at McDonald’s for a McFlurry dessert before settling in for the night. Students stayed at the showground in swags, ready to rise early again the next morning.
Saturday saw another full day of competition, with continued success in the Junior Doe classes. Students also spent much of the day stewarding for attending studs, demonstrating dedication and commitment despite having very little downtime. Their persistence and willingness to help did not go unnoticed, and all students are to be commended for their efforts throughout the event.
