Our Year 7 students have shown incredible enthusiasm and generosity throughout Term 1 with their coin fundraising efforts in support of Project Compassion.
Students spent the term collecting coins, building excitement towards a fun and meaningful finale held in the gym on Tuesday 21st. During this session, each class worked together to create a “coin snake,” carefully lining up their coins to see which group could build the longest one. The atmosphere was full of energy, teamwork and plenty of friendly competition.

The results were outstanding:
Every class should be extremely proud of their efforts. Collectively, this is a fantastic achievement and a wonderful example of our students putting their faith into action.
All funds raised will go towards Project Compassion, supporting vulnerable communities around the world. We thank our students and families for their generosity and commitment to making a difference.

Our Year 7 Dance students have recently undertaken a vibrant and engaging exploration of traditional dance styles from around the world. As part of this unit, each student selected a cultural dance style to research, learning about its origins, significance and key movements.
What made this experience particularly special was the way students brought their learning to life. Dressed in costumes inspired by their chosen culture, each student stepped into the role of teacher – guiding their peers through the movements and sharing the story behind their dance. From energetic rhythms to graceful, expressive gestures, the classroom was transformed into a celebration of global cultures.
It was wonderful to witness the confidence, creativity and enthusiasm of our students as they embraced both performance and leadership. This task not only developed their dance skills, but also fostered respect, curiosity and appreciation for the diversity of traditions around the world.

We are incredibly proud of the courage and commitment shown by all students – a truly joyful and enriching learning experience.

At lunchtime on 27 March (the end of Term 1), our wonderful 8 Red students hosted a vibrant and heartwarming Project Compassion Bake Sale—and what a success it was!
From the very beginning, students showed fantastic initiative and teamwork. They carefully planned the event, baked a wide variety of delicious treats, and worked together to set up the space before the rush began. With wonderful music playing throughout the bake sale, the atmosphere was lively, welcoming, and full of positive energy. Throughout the sale, students confidently managed both card and cash payments, organised the stall, and supported each other every step of the way.

A particularly special highlight was the strong sense of community within the class. Even students who had other commitments during lunchtime still contributed by bringing baked goods, while their classmates stepped in to help sell on their behalf. This truly reflected the spirit of teamwork and care that defines 8 Red.
And the results speak for themselves…
✨ Card: $115.30
✨ Cash: $98.20
🎉 Total Raised: $213.50
Not only did they meet their goal of $80—they more than doubled it! An incredible achievement that will make a meaningful difference through Project Compassion. A huge congratulations to all of 8 Red for their generosity, enthusiasm and outstanding teamwork. You have made me so proud as your Mentor Group teacher!
Thank you as well to the wider school community—both staff and students—for your generosity and kind support of 8 Red in our bake sale.
