Student Road Safety

We just wanted to alert you that our school crossing supervisors have noticed quite a few students, families and adults not using the school crossing on McKinnon Road at the end of Maree Street.  A few students are crossing unattended and some also with parents, across McKinnon Road to walk down Gladwyn Avenue. The same issue has also been noticed frequently on Valkstone Street at the end of Maree street.

As you can appreciate, our crossing supervisors (and us here at school!) are quite concerned; not only is it a busy time to cross the road unattended, but we also have cars turning into McKinnon Road from both Maree Street and Gladwyn Avenue right at that location, making it more dangerous.  

We remind you that it is our expectation as a school that all students and families use the crossings.  Our crossings are all supervised in the morning and the afternoon and this is the safest way across the road.
