Three-Way conferences will occur in Week 10 (last week of Term) on Monday 31st March between 2.00-3:30 PM and Thursday 3rd April from 2.00-7.00 PM. They will go live on Compass this Friday at 9.00 AM.
We have also opened up availability to speak to any of our specialist teachers from 3.40-5.00 PM on Thursday 3rd April between 3:40-5:00 PM.
Three-Way conferences are a key aspect of maintaining supportive communication for your child between school and home.
Bookings can be made by selecting the Community tab and then clicking on Conferences. Please keep in mind that we have allocated each conference 10 minutes and we would ask for your assistance in keeping to these time constraints.
Bookings will close on Wednesday 26th March at 3:30 pm.
The students and staff are very excited to see daily progress on our building project. As you can see there has been concrete poured into footings this week which gives some scale and dimension to the building. The students across all year levels have taken the adjustment to having a working building site at their school seamlessly. It's been especially great to see all our students sharing the playground in such an inclusive and respectful manner.
We are excited to announce that HEPS will be celebrating Harmony Day this year on Monday March 24th. We encourage students to wear the colour orange or a traditional costume. Why orange? Orange is the official colour chosen to represent Harmony Day. It signifies social communication and meaningful conversations. The colour orange also relates to freedom of ideas and encouragement of mutual respect.
The day will begin with a whole school assembly, an acknowledgement to country and an explanation of why we celebrate Harmony Day from our school captains. There will be an Indigenous culture performance
Last week, "Think You Know" visited HEPS to deliver a cyber safety presentation for our Year 5/6 students. We appreciate our local police officers for taking the time to educate our students on staying safe online.
A huge thank you to all the parents and community members who volunteered their time on Sunday morning for our first Working Bee of 2025. We had a fantastic turnout, with over 40 adults and children involved—our biggest turnout since I’ve been organising these events!
Thanks to everyone's hard work, we completed many important jobs, including staining the Foundation deck and Level 1 area, weeding and preparing the veggie garden for the next season, cleaning the sandpit, pruning the roses, and staining seating areas. A special shoutout to James Rees for hiring a mulcher to help with the cleanup!
We look forward to hosting another Working Bee in Term 2—hope to see you there!
On Tuesday, our Year 5/6 students took part in their first Summer Gala Sports Day, competing in Cricket, Basketball, Tee Ball, Tennis, Sofcrosse and Volleyball. Despite the hot conditions, our students gave their best effort and displayed fantastic sportsmanship throughout the day.
We’re looking forward to the second Summer Gala Day next week!
On Tuesday, our School Captains and Wellbeing Captains had the exciting opportunity to attend the GRIP Young Leaders Conference. This inspiring event brought together student leaders from various schools to develop their leadership skills, build confidence, and explore what it truly means to be an effective leader.
Throughout the day, our students participated in engaging workshops, interactive activities, and thought-provoking discussions that encouraged them to think critically about leadership, teamwork, and responsibility. They learned valuable strategies for making a positive impact in our school community, fostering inclusivity, and supporting their peers.
Congratulations to all our students who participated in the District Swimming carnival last week. We are very proud of your efforts and for upholding our school values of Respect, Resilience, Teamwork and Growth. Special mention to Sara P for progressing to the next stage.
Next week we will begin NAPLAN. All tests will be online, except for the Year 3 writing assessment which will be handwritten on paper. We wish all our Level 3 & 5 students all the best in completing the tests.
The tests will occur on the following days:
Wednesday 12th March Writing
