Getting back to the heart of our teaching
It is hard to believe that we are entering Week 3 already!
It seems like yesterday that I was on the Christmas break and embracing life at a slower pace, however, upon reflection, it wasn’t that I was spending life at a slower pace but allowing myself to be immersed in what is important to me. As I looked over photos recently there were two that stood out and spoke to me.
These photos represent a place that provides stillness and the ability to be surrounded by the sights, sounds and wonder of God. When you allow yourself to stop and be surrounded by God, He will reveal the works of his hands.
This leads me to a recent staff meeting we had within our Early Learning Centre (ELC); we recently spent time looking and submersing ourselves in our Philosophy, including our Mission and Vision at Emmaus.
In true ELC fashion, we incorporated art and creativity, having a ‘Paint and Fellowship’ experience where we took key statements and interpreted them through creative expression, ‘Painting.’ This allowed our ELC team to get back to the heart of what we do at Emmaus, which is written through our Philosophy, Purpose, Mission, and Vision statements.
As we welcome new children and families into our ELC, many are experiencing Emmaus for the first time. This artistic experience was great as it provided our team with an opportunity to connect with why we are who we are and why we are unique to the wider community. We are Emmaus, and we inspire hearts and minds.
Within our ELC, we will display our ‘Philosophy in Action,’ not to highlight our team's artistic talents but to share that love is found within and allow it to shine in all that we do and within our Emmaus community.
