Building Friendships in Year 3 / 4 VA

The first few weeks of school in Year 3 / 4 VA the students have been getting to know one another!. The students had a fantastic time learning about each other’s interests and family cultures.  Through a variety of activities and conversations, they have discovered what makes their classmates special and unique.  Below you will read some of the

students' experiences and the fun they had while learning more about their peers.

Circle Time: By Zara and Lucas

Every  morning, Year 3 / 4 VA gathers for Circle Time, a special time to learn more about our classmates in a fun and safe space. We start by saying hello to one another and asking questions, like what we had for breakfast or how we travelled to school. We also take time for morning prayer, where we say our school prayer, the Lord’s Prayer or the Hail Mary.

Posters about Me: Phoebe and Olivia

In small groups we had to get to know each other. We made  posters and  got into groups of 4. It was fun. We learnt about  each other and decorated posters and wrote a bit about our families. It was so much fun. We learnt a lot of stuff about families.

Getting to know you games: Maxwell and Goldi

During orientation we took part in lots of activities to get to know each other like the games.

We played Two Truths and One Lie and a Get to Know You Card Game and then a Scavenger Hunt. In the scavenger hunt you had to ask people questions about themselves and tick them off a list. It really did help us to get to know each other better!
