Bring Your Own Device, 2025

Tarneit Senior College believes that the use of digital technologies at school allows the development of valuable skills and knowledge and prepares students to thrive in our globalised and interconnected world. Personal Devices at Tarneit Senior College offers students two options regarding devices for use at school. Students may opt to do the following:
1. Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) - The college ICT team will connect the device to the school network to allow access to the internet and printing whilst at school. No changes will be made to the functioning of the computer and no programs will be supplied. Students are responsible for any repairs to the device.
2. Parents/carers are invited to purchase a Chromebook for their child to bring to school. Tarneit Senior College has made special arrangements to provide students with a Chromebook through Learning With Technologies. Information is found in the BYOD Form on the school website or from the General Office. Students are required to bring their devices to school each day to be used during class time for different learning activities.
When bringing their device to school, students should ensure that it:
● Is fully charged each morning
● Is brought to school in a protective case
Please note that our school does not have insurance to cover accidental damage to students' devices, and parents/carers are encouraged to consider obtaining insurance for their child’s device. Students, parents and carers who would like more information or assistance regarding our BYOD program are encouraged to contact the College.
