Student Services : Wellbeing

Welcome to all new NHS students and families, and welcome back to those returning after a long and well-earned break.
The Student Wellbeing team support the positive mental health and wellbeing of all students in the school community. We work closely with students, families, staff, and other services to promote resilience, positive relationships, and general wellbeing.
Our services include:
Counselling support and other early intervention services
Coordinating support for students with complex needs
Contributing to whole-school approach to mental health prevention and promotion
Financial support for students and families
Therapeutic groups
Psychoeducation programs
Breakfast club
Overseeing the student clubs’ program
Parenting support programs
2025 is going to be a big year! We have lots of exciting events and celebration days planned and we can’t wait to bring them to you!
Or first school wide event is Harmony Day, on March 21st. Our newly elected student leaders will be working with the student services team to bring you this event, please stay tuned for details closer to the date.
Breakfast Club is Back on!
If mornings at home are a bit rushed and breakfast isn’t always readily available, students are encouraged to join us for the Schools Breakfast Clubs Program.
Students are welcome to join us on Tuesday Mornings (8:30am onwards) in C6 for a free, breakfast to fuel the day. It is a great opportunity to meet new friends, grab sme food and start the day on the right note.
Breakfast options vary from: fresh fruit, pancakes, toasties, toast and spreads, cereals, milo. See you there 😊
Resources for Families
We know that the beginning of a new school year can bring certain challenges, it's normal to feel uncertain about things. To help families we have complied the following list of resources, and will continue to update this in future editions of the newsletter

Parentline - DFFH Services free to use counselling service for parents or carers of children aged 0-18, open from 8am to midnight. Focusing on relationships with child, family wellbeing and resilience etc
