Creative approaches to ideas of protest

On Monday, all Year 12 English students took part in a workshop run by Complete Works Theatre Company to help them prepare for their first SAC. The SAC is to create a text engaging with the idea of protest. The VCAA has made this SAC quite open; students can choose to the write an essay, a speech, a short story, a monologue, or other. Students are given 'mentor texts' to model high quality writing, which students should unpack and be inspired by when they write their own text. The Complete Works actors performed excerpts from these mentor texts, talked about ways the students could be inspired by these texts, and helped students to engage in the creative process
