Year 6 Leadership Retreat

On Thursday 20 February 2025, the Year 6 students spent the day in the Undercover Area learning what qualities a leader should have. We did lots of fun activities, teaching us different qualities we should have as leaders, we also learnt that the best superhero is Jesus.
When we got there we were each given a different wrist band. These would be our smaller groups. The groups were: Thor, Black Panther, Iron Man and Captain America, Superman and Batman. We started the retreat with a video of a superhero who represents peace, she always makes sure everyone has what is right for them, then we had to write in our books about a time we had to bring peace to an argument.
Once everyone was done we played superhero charades, where we were spilt into two teams and one person was chosen to guess which superhero the rest of their team was acting out. Then we watched another video about goodness. After, we played a game where we had to throw a frisbee at a stack of cups in our smaller groups.
Next we watched two videos back to back. The first one was about self-control, and the second one was about patience. Later we had to give examples in our books about five times we had to show patience. After that we watched a video about kindness, then we played a game where we put pillow cases on our arms, and had to catch a toy baby. Soon it was recess. When we came back, we played a game where one person was blindfolded and another had to guide them. Next it was lunch time. When we came back we watched one final video about love and joy.
Then to finish the day we wrote a special prayer to God. It was great fun and we learned a lot from the team that ran the retreat about how to be a good leader like Jesus.
