Lenten Prayer

Dear God

We gather this coming season of Lent, 

as we begin our journey towards Good Friday and Easter.

As we pray, fast and give alms this Lent, 

help us to make more space in our busy lives for you.

May the ashes we receive remind us that your love is larger than life, 

and that all people are equal in your eyes.

This Lent, help us to unite against poverty, to work for justice, and to care for creation, so that we may build the Kingdom of God where all are welcome and thrive.

In this Year of Jubilee, may we be pilgrims of hope.

We ask this in Jesus’s name.
