CAMP ADANAC EDITION

Wow! What a fantastic time all the students and teachers had at Camp ADANAC last week! I’m sure the children have already shared their favourite experiences but here is an overview of our days at camp, as well as some wonderful photos:

Monday

Students were extremely excited to arrive for their first school camp and were, of course, eager to see their rooms and find out who their camp buddies were. Everyone was happy to be with their friends and to get their rooms all set up.

We played some fun games inside while the rain was strong and then it was straight into a range of activities outside. Students completed two of the following activities archery, hut building, aqua ponding, disc golf or trampolines/cage soccer.

After some free time students enjoyed a yummy dinner of chicken parmigianas with vegetables, followed by a delicious cake for Mrs Mowat’s birthday and then a movie night.

Tuesday

After a (mostly!) good night's sleep, students woke up ready for another day of fun activities. Students braved the cold water to zoom down the 110-metre water slide and canoe around the lake. They faced their fears and sped across the water on the flying fox. Students also completed the tricky low ropes course, before playing a game of beach volleyball. They made and cooked their own damper around a campfire, and completed a photo hunt to find different places around camp.

Once again we ate some delicious food for the day; jam doughnuts for morning tea, a sausage sizzle for lunch, an Anzac slice for afternoon tea, pasta for dinner, followed by tasty ice cream with a range of yummy toppings. For our night activity, we went for a short walk and cooked marshmallows around the campfire, before all the exhausted students and teachers went to bed.

Wednesday

For our last day of camp, students completed their final two activities from Monday’s rotations. They enjoyed yummy cake for morning tea to celebrate Abbey’s birthday, and enjoyed creating their own rolls for lunch. A highlight of this was the lip sync battle that followed! It was great to see some of our very brave and enthusiastic students perform. This was followed by a competitive game of gaga ball between all the school staff with the students cheering us on. Before we knew it, it was time to get on the bus to head back to school!
