Week 9 Term 3

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope you had a lovely weekend and enjoyed some sunshine. The second Thursday of September is R U OK? Day, a day dedicated to inspiring and empowering everyone to meaningfully connect with people around them by asking the simple question, “Are you OK?” Now could be a great time to ask your child, “Are you OK?” and to support them if they are struggling.

As we near the end of the term, I want to emphasise the continued importance of maintaining routines and ensuring regular school attendance. While it may be tempting to ease up as the holidays approach, this is a time for our students to consolidate their learning. We understand that the end of the term can be a busy time for families. Your support in maintaining your child’s routine and encouraging regular attendance and arrival to school on time is invaluable.

MACSIS Survey: Your Voice Matters in School Improvement

Thank you to families who have completed the Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools—School Improvement Surveys (MACSSIS). Last week, the ORIMA research company sent an email to different families. If you received it, please take some time to complete these surveys.

The survey allows families to share feedback about different aspects of the school. Please take the time to complete the survey, as our community’s opinions are critical to understanding how our school is performing. The survey results will guide the ongoing work to improve our school.

If you would like more information, please contact the school.

STEM MAD SHOWCASE

Mr Frazzetto has been working tirelessly with six groups of students on their STEM MAD projects. The six teams designed a product, service or innovation to Make A Difference (MAD) to others or the environment. All six teams have submitted an entry, and tomorrow we have four teams presenting their projects to a panel of judges at the Catholic Leadership Centre. Jack, Estelle, Alexander, Erica and Joe will be on the Radio tomorrow. Please see the instructions below if you want to listen to their interview. We will send out the time tomorrow once it is confirmed. There are two ways people can listen.

  1. Go to the LIVE FM website (www.livefm.online) and click on the radio player on the home page to listen on PCs, laptops, iPads, etc.
  2. Download the LIVE FM radio station app. The best way to do this is to go to the LIVE FM (www.livefm.online) homepage and click on links to the APP Store or Google Play store to install apps on phones or iPads.

We wish these team members and Mr. Frazetto the best of luck. To see the wonderful project, please visit Mr. Frazetto's newsletter page.

Experience Music Recital

I want to extend a huge thank you to Experience Music for putting together a spectacular showcase of talent last Monday and Tuesday.  Over two evenings, we were treated to various performances, including singing, piano, guitar, and drumming. The energy and passion our students from Foundation to Year 6 brought to the stage were amazing. Their talent and dedication were evident in every performance.

These performances highlighted not only our students' musical abilities but also their confidence and creativity. Moments like these remind us of the incredible potential within our school community.

Once again, a big thank you to Experience Music for making these nights possible; we are so proud of what they have achieved and excited to see where their musical journeys will take them next!

FOOTY DAY

Put on your favourite team’s colours, a jumper, or a scarf with your school uniform, and join us for Footy Day at school next Thursday, September 19th. Thank you to the P&F for organising hotdogs and doughnuts for lunch; please do not forget to order.
