Year 2 Excursion to AQWA
Tuesday 10 September was a very exciting day for the Year 2 students as they visited AQWA. Helped by a number of parents and grandparents, they explored the aquarium, enjoying interacting with sea creatures including sharks and starfish in the touch pool. They saw native Western Australian marine life, and found out about different habitats, animals and local corals.
It was a great day for everyone, and we thank our wonderful parent helpers for their assistance in this experience for the children.
Junior School Students Achieve High Distinction in Statewide Maths Talent Quest
Jasper Zhu and Jonathan Qiu in Year 5 have been awarded High Distinctions in the Maths Talent Quest run by Mathematical Association of Western Australia (MAWA). This state-wide competition involves students undertaking a mathematical investigation of choice. As High Distinction recipients, Jasper and Jonathan have now been entered into the National Maths Talent Quest.
Jonathan and Jasper chose to investigate how many dominoes it would take to create a domino chain around a basketball court. The boys are looking forward to an awards ceremony this term to celebrate their achievements. Well done!
Deadly Day Out Excursion
Last term, on Friday 13 September, All Saints' College's 'Deadly Team' enjoyed a fun-filled excursion to Bounce Trampoline Park for Volume 3 of the 'Deadly Day Out'. It was a fabulous opportunity for the students to continue developing their relationships with others from across the school years in a new environment.
Putting their parkour skills to the test, showing off some awesome flips and participating in a big group game of dodgeball, friendships were strengthened and admirable displays of leadership were seen. Feeling exhausted after two full hours of bouncing, the students shared lunch together before heading back to school. It was another memorable day with the team, and the afternoon was spent discussing the excitement, ready for the next day out!
