Ministry
Finally, Term 3 is ending.
This term’s theme was Grace, Forgiveness and Mercy.
In March/April every year, the community in the Old Testament reflected on their history as they sought to trace the presence of God, His grace, mercy, and forgiveness in it. This was during the feast of Passover. Often, their history was full of times when they were weak and fallen before God and did not deserve his mercy nor his forgiveness. Yet time and time again, God sought them out and made them aware he had not abandoned them at any time and that His grace was enough for them. Using prophets, judges and people like Moses and Abraham, He presented to them his mercy and forgiveness. At the feast of Passover that went on for eight days, they spent time reflecting about those moments of grace, mercy and forgiveness and gave themselves a reason to rejoice and thank God.
Throughout the term, whether in the Staff Room or at Chapel, members of our community shared stories of grace, mercy, and forgiveness. How did these stories impact on our lives?
Did it make us yearn to share our own stories? Did we or people we know encounter God’s grace, mercy, or His forgiveness through a story you can remember?
Did we or people we know share this grace, mercy, and forgiveness with others or with ourselves?
As we head into our holidays, it is now a moment to carry the joy of community that has experienced grace, mercy, and forgiveness back to our families and communities.
We listened to the staff room stories of the wonderful things happening within the Endeavour community. From Debating Club excelling to successful Connected Schools Worship. From great volleyball, soccer, netball carnivals to successful table tennis tournaments. Science Week celebrations, band performances, food technology excursions and so on.
There was something nice and positive happening in every corner of the school.
We heard great news from camp experiences.
Whether it was in the school bulletin/notice board or through staff announcements every story that we listened to or read was a manifestation of God’s grace in the Endeavour College community. And, we hope, that on every event there was an occasion for the mercy and forgiveness of God.
And for all this?
We thank God.
Let us pray for a restful and wonderful time during the holidays.
