From the Leadership Team
The phrase “punching above our weight” came to mind as I sat listening to both of our Year 10 Debating teams battle it out at the South Australian Debating grand final on Saturday in Parliament House. But maybe that’s unfair as it suggests we are underdogs... and based on the superb quality of our College and the students going to it, maybe we are no longer that young school in the Northern suburbs with an underdog status.
But what does it mean to punch above our weight?
To me, it’s about stepping up to challenges, even when they seem beyond our reach, and putting in the effort, determination, and resilience to overcome them. It’s about not backing down when faced with something tough, but instead, tackling it head-on with a confident mindset.
Whether it’s our Debating teams, the Pedal Prix team, our talented musicians, our incredible Drama students, the Community Netballers and Basketballers, those involved within the Stories of Endeavour Podcast or just all the students who wear their uniform with pride each day, Endeavour College is certainly being noticed for all the right reasons.
As we end this term, let’s pause for a moment to consider how we have embraced the challenges that came our way.
Whether it’s a difficult test, a sports competition, or personal goals, remember that we all have the potential to punch above our weight. With effort, perseverance, and a positive attitude, we can rise above any obstacle and grow stronger through the process.
