Things to know
The community members of Launching Place Primary School acknowledge the traditional owners, the Kulin nations, of the land on which we learn and play.
We pay respects to the Aboriginal Elders, past and present, who are our teachers.
We thank them for taking care of children and country for countless generations.
Welcome Back to Term Four
I hope you have had a terrific September school holiday break and are keen for the return of school. I wanted to preview some of the great things that will be going on in term 4 in preparation for a busy 12 weeks.
Many exciting things will be happening during this term such as Swimming , Sports, Cup day, Graduation & Christmas Concerts and many more.

Please remember to utilize the resources provided by the Community Pantry located in the school foyer.
Everyone is welcome to help themselves.
Breakfast Club runs every Wednesday and Thursday from 8.10 - 8.40 (limited menu after 8.30). All welcome!
Parent helpers are most welcome to pop in and give a lending hand. Thank You To Esme for all your help.
Uniform shop
LPPS is in the midst of changing uniform suppliers. Soon our new supplier will be online.
The transition should be seamless and we will keep you up to date when this transition is complete. We still have exsisting uniform at school which can be purchased at the school
Bikes/Scooters
Children who ride bikes or scooters to school MUST wear an approved safety helmet. Foundation to grade two students must be accompanied by a responsible adult to and from school if they wish to ride to school, as their peripheral vision and reflexes are generally not developed enough for them to deal safely with traffic without supervision. Bikes must not be ridden in the school grounds at any time, instead please encourage children to pop off their bike and walk it through the yard.
End of Term Dismissal Times
Dismissal time on the last day of terms 1, 2 and 3 is 2:30pm.
Dismissal on the final day of the school year is 1:30pm.

Our Prep teachers and our principal provide parents with information about your child's prep transition. You will also receive a Prep information Booklet, with important information about our school and prep program, as well as tips to support your child's transition to school.
We look forward to welcoming you to our school!
Hats
Kindly note that it is mandatory for all students to wear hats during recess and lunchtime in term 4. In the event that students do not have a hat, they will be requested to remain in an undercover area, which may restrict their activities during break times.
Headlice
I would like to urge parents to develop the practice of regularly examining their children's hair on a weekly basis to ensure a proactive approach. It would be beneficial to suggest to students with sufficiently long hair to tie it up, as this can minimize the likelihood of lice infestation. Additionally, kindly inform the school office or your child's teacher when you administer treatment for lice, so that appropriate lice alert notices can be posted on our COMPASS system.
