Foundation Learning Community

It has been another busy two weeks in the Foundation learning space. 

For Literacy, we have just finished our Speedy Sloth text-based unit. We learned all about how to be resilient and brave and try our personal best. We have now begun our next unit, The Three Little Pigs. We are sure your child will be coming home using different synonyms for the word 'good' over the next few weeks. 

This week for Maths, we have been learning how to count forwards and backwards. To support us with this learning you might like to play games like snakes and ladders with your child at home. 

During our Geography lessons, we have drawn a variety of places around our local community of Cobram. The children then worked together to place these on a huge map. Please see the photo of our map in our collection of photos! The children did a fantastic job with this. 

Our school Athletics day is next Tuesday the 10th of September. Your child can wear their house colours. Please ensure these clothes are SunSmart clothing and appropriate footwear. If they do not wish to dress in house colours they will need to wear their sports uniform. Parents and carers are more than welcome to attend our sports day, our children will complete their activities during the Morning session. 

Lots of the children have put their names down to audition for St. Joey's has talent. Their auditions will be next Wednesday. They are allowed to pack a special costume for this if they wish. If they are performing a dance or song that requires music, can you please help your child write this on a note and bring it in for us.
