Prayer

As our students prepare to participate in their First Reconciliation next week, we pray for them. They have learned the Prayer of Reconciliation, the Act of Contrition, expressing sorrow for their sins and resolving to sin no more. While there are many versions of the Act of Contrition, you are welcome to use one similar to the one below:

Reconciliation

On Friday, 13th September, at 12:30 p.m., our candidates participating in the Reconciliation Program will receive their First Reconciliation. These students have been diligently completing a home-based program, and we congratulate them on this important milestone in their faith journey. We invite our school community to attend and support them on this special day.

A reminder to all parents that an email has been sent home with all the details regarding the Reconciliation ceremony.

F.I.R.E Carrier Commissioning Ceremony

On Monday, 9th September, our new F.I.R.E. Carriers will be commissioned in a special ceremony led by Michael Chisholm and Louise Levi from the CESL. Our new F.I.R.E. Carriers have been diligently preparing for this role, working closely with Mrs. Sefton, Mrs. Hyde, and Miss Kerr to update St. Joseph's F.I.R.E. Carrier Covenant for 2024-25, which serves as our Reconciliation Action Plan.

These F.I.R.E. Carriers are eager to promote respect, fairness, and inclusion for Aboriginal people. F.I.R.E. Carriers, comprised of both students and teachers, share a passion for learning about Aboriginal culture and history and are committed to spreading this knowledge and fostering reconciliation within and beyond our school community.

We look forward to witnessing the impact of their efforts in igniting the fire in all of us over the next 12 months.

All parents, guardians, and friends are welcome to attend the ceremony on Monday, 9th September, at 11:30 a.m. under the shade sails.
