Principal's Message
Camp Kookaburra - Year 3/4
What a privilege to join 79 students and 9 adults in Corop on Thursday and Friday. The students enjoyed a wonderful range of adventure activities and created lasting memories. Thank you to Mrs. Dovey, Miss Kerr, Mr. Brown, and Mrs. Hyde for their planning and organisation. We know the kids will all sleep well tonight!
Director's Briefing
Last week all 52 Principal's and Deputy Principal's gathered in Shepparton to unveil a new direction for Catholic Education Sandhurst - "Magnify Sandhurst". Magnify Learning places teachers at the forefront, emphasising their role in delivering a knowledge-rich curriculum and learner skills. This method focuses on responsive student engagement and guided practice, providing a strong foundation before advancing to complex tasks: it’s sophisticated, inclusive, and highly interactive. Neuroscience supports Magnify Learning, highlighting its importance in learning and retaining key skills and knowledge, as emphasised in instructional frameworks such as Rosenshine’s Principles of Instruction, the HITS, and Cognitive Load Theory. More information to come in the following weeks.
Foundation 2025 Interviews
Mrs Arundel and I have had the great privilege of meeting with the families of our incoming 2025 Foundation students over the past couple of weeks. These interviews have been a wonderful opportunity to connect with our future students and their families, and we are truly grateful for the time shared together. Our transition program begins next term starting on Wednesday 16th, October. We can't wait to see all the students back wearing their St. Joes T-shirts.
God bless,
Sarah Iddles
