Week 9 Term 3
What's been happening in 3/4B lately?
Last week some the students presented a Google Slideshow that they have been working on in our Inquiry lessons. The students (either with a partner or by themselves) conducted research on one of six different disabilites. They were: Vision Impairment, Hearing Impairment, Muscular Dystrophy, Cerebral Palsy, Autism and Epilepsy. We will now use this information to create a poster raising awareness of these disabilities and think about how we can be more inclusive and support people in our school and local community who may have these diabilities.
How are 3/4B shaping up in Maths? Well, pretty well actually, because this past week we have been sorting and classifying a variety of 2D shapes and 3D objects. This has helped to expland our vocabulary in this area and become more confident using correct terms to define these shapes. We have been using words such as quadrilateral, polygon, prism, polyhedron and curved surface. Maths fact: did you know that a square is a special type of rectangle?
What an amazing Book Week with the book fair, book week activities and book parade. We also managed to incorporate Science Week and have a visit from our Grandparents. Learning certainly is Magic! Here are some photos from Wednesday's book parade. Individual photos have also been uploaded to Seesaw. Please check them out.
On Friday 20th September 3/4L and 3/4B would again like to invite parents and families to come and view some of the wonderful work that we have been working on during term 3. The classrooms will be open from 2:30pm until the bell goes at 3:15pm. We had an overwhelming response to our showcase towards the end of term 2 and thought this would be a great opportunity to do it once again. We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible!
Kind regards,
Brendan.
