Saint Francis Xavier - Principal's Report
Term 3 - Week 9
Dear Parents and Friends of St Francis Xavier,
What a massive week it has already been at St Francis Xavier Primary School! 'Learning is Magic Week' has been non-stop learning and fun, with all students involved in a range of activities linked to both Book Week and Science Week. Please have a read through all of the classroom pages in this newsletter, as they are full of photos and information about what has taken place.
Although there is only a tad over a week remaining before the holidays, it will still be a very busy time at school. We look forward to;

Last day of Term 3. School finishes at 3:15pm
Super Sports Friday
On the last day of Term, it will be Super Sports Friday at S.F.X. On this day, students are encouraged to come to school dressed in their favourite sports gear. Classes will head outside for extra sport and games, which will be lots of fun. We will also hold a sausage sizzle.
We are asking students to please bring a donation to school of a gold coin/s or a small note on this day. All funds raised will be donated to the Lungitude Foundation, which is an especially important and personal cause for our school community.
MACSSIS Surveys
If you received a MACSSIS survey, I would greatly appreciate your taking the opportunity to complete the survey and share your views about St Francis Xavier School.
Our survey response data indicates it is only taking, on average, 10 minutes for families to complete the survey, which is completely anonymous, but of the 100 surveys sent out to our families, only 16 have been completed.
Your opinion genuinely matters to us and provides feedback which we consider for future planning.
Cyber Safety Hub
I am really please to be able to share with families the link below to our recently updated school Online Safety Hub.
The hub has many purposes.
Educating Parents: It provides parents with up-to-date information about the potential risks children may face online, including cyberbullying, inappropriate content, online predators, and privacy concerns. This helps parents become more aware of the digital landscape their children are navigating.
Promoting Safe Online Behavior: The hub offers tips and best practices for parents to teach their children how to use the internet responsibly and safely. This includes guidance on managing screen time, setting parental controls, and maintaining respectful online interactions.
Providing Resources: The hub typically includes links to external resources, tutorials, guides, and tools that parents can use to monitor and manage their children’s online activities. This might include apps, security software, and educational materials.
Updating on Latest Trends: As technology evolves, new trends and potential threats emerge. The hub helps keep parents informed about the latest online trends and issues, such as popular apps, social media platforms, and new digital risks.
Fostering School-Parent Partnership: By offering a central location for online safety information, the hub strengthens the collaboration between the school and parents in ensuring children’s well-being in the digital world.
Answering Frequently Asked Questions: It serves as a platform where parents can find answers to common concerns about online safety, making it easier for them to handle challenges effectively.
Having an online safety hub empowers parents with knowledge and tools, promoting a safer online environment for their children. I strongly encourage all families to take some time to have a look through this wonderful resource.
