What a busy week it's been at SJV this week. We have had so many exciting events and would love to share some of these with you. In Religion, we have been learning to be 'Guardians of Creation'; being custodians to the natural wonders of the world that God has given us. We had our class mass with that theme in mind. We wrote prayers to reflect this learning through a song we learned called 'Let There Be'.
We have also been learning about Fractions and we used Symmetry in Shapes to show how Maths and Art can work in unison. We noticed how symmetry works in nature and how some human made objects also use fractions and symmetry together. We used a circle and began folding it in half and in half and in half again to create a fractions pie. We then cut into the folded shape with a variety of smaller cut outs. We then unfolded the paper so we could see the symmetry of the design created.
We also had an absolutely great day on Monday with Book Week and the Theme: Reading Is Magic. We enjoyed reading some of our favourite books and learning about what type of books others in our class like to read, too. We joined in the parade at the end of the day and it was great to see so many of our parents and families there too. What an amazing week its been!🥰
