Principals Message

Dear parents and carers,

Last week we celebrated with our grandparents and we also acknowledged the wonderful work of the Sisters of Mercy. Both groups play or have played a significant role in the lives of our students. Many grandparents I mingled with last Friday were young parents when I first started at St Xavier’s. (PS I was young too!) It was so good to listen to their stories and fond memories of our school. 

Likewise, the nuns have many stories to tell about St Xavier’s. As educators we have been mentored and supported by the Sisters of Mercy over the years. It is vital to keep their spirit alive in our school. In the words of Catherine McAuley, “The simplest and most practical lesson I know is to resolve to be good today and better tomorrow.”
