YEAR 10 CAMP
On the 14th to the 16th of August the year 10’s went to Melbourne for a Melbourne city camp. The whole camp was planned to allow students to experience the things that Melbourne has to offer. It was a great camp with lots of fun active events such as ice skating, glow golf and Bounce. We also attended the Road to Zero seminar where students learnt how to be safer on the roads as many of them are getting their learners and learnt about the Carlton College of Sports and explored the post school opportunities that the college has to offer.

WVLX Excursion - General Capabilities
On Tuesday 10th September the year 9 students visited the Mortlake Saleyards WVLX
Jake and Jo showed us through the facility and discussed some of the features of the saleyards.
It was the day after the ‘Prime Sale’ so we got to see some of the sold stock being collected and set off in transport to their destinations.
We learnt about the careers and opportunities available at the saleyards and got to meet some of the staff who worked there as well as see some of the state of the art facilities.
The Mortlake WVLX handle approximately 200000 cattle each year and so that volume means that they see a huge amount of vendors, stocks and trucks each week through the yards.
We had a great time at the saleyards and got to learn about the way stock are managed and processed.
Thanks to Jo and Jake for being our hosts and also to Liz Fowler for helping to get us access to see how everything works.
Year 7/8 Markets
On Thursday 5th September the year 7 & 8 students had their first market stalls.
The students were really pleased with their sales and their customers all seemed pleased with their purchases.
A big shout out to all of the students for their hard work and organisation in getting the products ready for market. Congratulations on a great lunch time event.
Final Market This Thursday
This term, our 7/8 students have been working on establishing small business enterprises to learn about economics, budgeting, marketing and profit and loss.
On Thursdays 5th, 12th & 19th September, students will run their businesses at lunchtime markets in the undercover area.
Some of the goods on sale include sausages, milkshakes, crepes, ice creams, drinks & lollies.
All profits from the market will go towards the K Mart Wishing Tree so please support it if you can by sending in some cash for students to spend.
Please note that sausages need to be ordered before the event and order forms will go home during the week– other items will be available on the day until sold out. Items all vary from $1 - $3 in price. Thanks for your support!
