End of Year Newsletter 2024 🎉
Â
Wow! What an incredible finish to 2024 we’ve had at Banyan Fields Primary School! The weeks leading up to Christmas have been jam-packed with excitement, joy, and celebration. From the unforgettable adventures of the Year 3 and 6 camps to our final year-level assemblies and this week’s fun-filled class parties, it has been a whirlwind of activity and achievement. Every student has shone brightly, and I couldn’t be prouder of how you’ve conducted yourselves this year. Your hard work, resilience, and dedication to learning have truly paid off—well done, everyone!

Christmas Concert Magic 🎶✨
Â
One of the highlights of the term was undoubtedly our Christmas Concert! What a wonderful evening it was, with students across all year levels performing their songs in front of the school community. Watching you sing your hearts out—and even incorporating some fabulous actions—was truly inspiring. Your parents and carers were beaming with pride, and rightly so. The effort you put into practising and performing was evident, and you should all feel incredibly proud of yourselves. Thank you for making the night so memorable for everyone who attended!

Farewell to Our Graduating Class of 2024 🎓
Â
To our amazing graduating Year 6 students, it was an absolute privilege to celebrate your achievements at the graduation ceremony. Seeing so many of you walk across the stage to receive awards was inspiring. But remember—awards or not—you are all heading into an exciting new chapter in your lives. As Dr Seuss so wisely put it:
"You have brains in your head,You have feet in your shoes,You can steer yourselfAny direction you choose…"
The world is waiting for you, and there’s no dream too big! I wish you all the very best as you embark on your high school journey. Remember, the friendships you’ve made here are ones to treasure—be kind, stay safe, and never stop striving for greatness.
Â
Celebrating Leadership and Excellence 🌟
Â
A huge congratulations to our 2024 school leaders—school captains, house captains, and SRC leaders. You have carried out your roles with enthusiasm and commitment, helping to make Banyan Fields a better place for everyone. From working with Carrum Downs High School to supporting local kindergartens, your contributions have been outstanding.
To our 2025 school leaders—congratulations on being selected for these important roles! I can’t wait to hear about all the fantastic work you’ll do next year as you take on your new responsibilities. It’s also been wonderful to see students from across all year levels recognised for their excellence in academics, arts, and leadership. Whether nominated or awarded, your efforts inspire us all.
A Fond Farewell and Exciting New Beginnings 🎄
Â
This will be my final newsletter as Acting Principal at Banyan Fields Primary School, and I want to take a moment to say what an absolute honour it has been to serve this wonderful school community. The students, staff, and families here are truly exceptional, and I have cherished every moment of my time here.
Looking ahead to 2025, I am excited to announce that I’ll be taking on the role of Acting Principal at Keysborough Primary School in Term 1. While I’ll miss the Banyan Fields family, I’m looking forward to embracing this new opportunity and carrying forward the many lessons I’ve learned here.
Â
