School building update!

Dear parents and carers,

The year 1 – 6 students had a great start to the year, lots of smiling faces and fascinating holiday stories.

For your information, I would like to provide an update regarding the works that are occurring around the school.

Accessible toilet

Works are still occurring at the back of the school to the accessible toilet. They are in the final stages of waterproofing and adding internal attachments.

Ramps

Final concreting and handrails are being installed to the junior and main building ramps. We have been informed that there are still a couple of weeks until this work is finalised.

Junior Playground

A section of the junior playground is fenced off at the moment, as we are making it accessible for all students. This work should be finalised by the middle of next week.

Junior Building

Our junior school building works will commence in March. These works are to enhance and modernise the internal structure of the building.

Students in the junior building (1A, 1B, 1C, 1D, 2A and 2B) will be relocated to portables that will be arriving at our school at the end of February or early March. These portables will be placed in the existing carpark at the front of the school. Once the portables are in place, contractors will move the existing furniture and resources into those buildings, ready for the students. The works to the junior building will last for several months, therefore access to the back of the school will remain closed.

We are working closely with the Victorian Building Authority and provide updates, as required.

Senior Playground and installation of a Ninja Course

Our Senior Playground will be closed for a week in February (commencing 24/2) for an upgrade to the existing play structure and the installation of a new ninja course. This will be a significant improvement for our students and is a result of the fundraising efforts of our parent committee.

While these works may cause some disruption, this overall work will significantly benefit the overall functionality of our school for our community.

Thank you,
