Amazing 5/6

Term 2 - Week 2

A message from the teachers

Welcome to 2025 Year 5/6 parents, friends and students, we are excited to welcome you to another fun, busy and hopefully productive year. My name is Nick Duckett, and I am the teacher of 5/6A and the 5/6 Co-Ordinator this year. Along with Gemma Baker and Claudia Jenkinson in 5/6B, and Karen Dragatsikas and Julie Taylor in 5/6C, we would just like to share how pleased we have all been with how the kids have started this year. Although there has been a lot of discussion around expectations and leadership, the students have really bought in so far and it has been really pleasing to see.

We have a lot of different things coming up this term, and lots of chances for the students to grow into their new leadership positions at the top of the school. Interschool sport has just started, with our volleyball, cricket and tennis teams learning lots of new skills and our tee-ball team looking for eternal glory like last year. We have swimming starting in a few weeks, which always requires lots of organisation and patience. Please keep an eye out for the list of equipment students will need to bring every day. Also coming up; sports carnivals, whole school picnics, a mini concert and cross country. We might also try to squeeze in some teaching as well.

As always, if there are any queries or concerns, please feel free to discuss with your child’s classroom teacher or bring them to me directly. We appreciate addressing issues as early as possible and have an open door policy. Please allow us 48 hours to reply to your emails and if urgent, contact the office and they can pass your messages on.

Hello, I’m Daniel C and I am one of your school captains for 2025. Along with me in this position is Marie L.

What are we looking forward to this year?

This year, we are looking forward to both summer and winter interschool sports. I play soccer during the winter, and Marie is looking forward to T-ball in the summer, as her team made it to Regionals last year.

What are we looking forward to as school captains?

We are really looking forward to representing Le Page in many events, such as assemblies, Koori Day, Junior Mayor and so many more.

What we love about Le Page and some of our goals for this year?

My goal for this year is to be a role model for all of the younger students, just beginning their school journey. Marie’s goal for this year is to help every student to reach the best of their abilities, and help them start their primary school journey. Le Page is an awesome school and we are stoked to be leading this year.

Marie and Daniel
